Rock & Roll Evacuation - Feb 7

Almost a year after its release in the UK, Electric Six's SeƱor Smoke is finally hitting stateside! (A ridiculous delay; tragedy that it took the boys so long to sign with another label. Anyway, it's all good now.) My favorite tracks from the "new" album: "Boy or Girl?" (which they didn't play at their last local gig, grrr.), "Jimmy Carter," and of course "Pleasing Interlude No 1" and "Pleasing Interlude No 2." Preview tracks off their myspace.

And if that wasn't enough excitement, E6's 3rd album will be released autumn 2006. Ai!

Craptastic Photo of 4 of the E6

This band is insane fun live. Also will be swinging by a few days afterwards to trigger a dance epidemic at Bowery Ballroom (Mars, thanks for the FYI re: show). Few more months before it's time to gather the hardcore fans again...

Edit: Just found out the Metropolis Records, E6's new label, also distributes Apoptygma Berzerk's music. Memories...I loved their music during my college days. Not as fun or funny as E6, AB is more angsty (dare I say,
goth?) synth pop. And no, I was never a goth.
