4 Days in Prague
Back from Prague & Istanbul. When I got off the flight, I felt that I needed a vacation to recover from that vacation. Pretty much every day of the trip I got up at 8am, stumbled over miles and miles of cobble stone streets, and cursed myself for not bringing warmer clothes (my souvenir from the trip: a nasty cold and cough). Hmm...maybe another vacation is in order.Back on track -- these two cities can't be more different from each other -- architecture, people, culture. Prague is a beautiful (but cold!) city. My Prague memories:
- Most awesome views -
Prague Castle at night, Charles Bridge anytime - Most amusing sight - drunk Brit stag partiers stumble about Wenceslas Square and Old Town, and club & bar promoters descend on them like vultures
- Only thing that broke through my happy-to-be-on-vacation haze - prevailing unfriendly, cold attitude of waitstaff (yes, I've been warned by guidebooks about this, but still...)
- Cheapest and most relaxing pastime -
munching on a hot dog and watching the ebb and flow of tourists, locals and machine gun-toting police in Old Town Square
- That's weird moment - learning that the Musuem of Communism is located next to a casino and above a McDonalds

Ahoj from Praha
We (Coreen, my guest blogger friend, and I) are in Praha, home of good beer, sausages and unfriendly waiters.
Off to Istanbul in a few days! More posts maybe later. Maybe. Dinner calls.

Furry Lost & Found
My 'hood has turned into lost pet central. Passed four flyers either advertising found animals or seeking lost animals on the way to the laundromat tonight. (The laundromat is 2 blocks away from my apartment.) All these cute, fuzzy faces staring at me from street lamps make me miss my Coco Stinkypants. She is staying at her country house (aka my parents' house) for the next two weeks while I'm away.I take comfort in the fact that she is having fun driving my parents' ornery cat crazy.
